This is a rough decimal approximation. Fractions like 2/3 repeat forever (0.6666…), so we round for display.

How fraction simplification works

We compute the greatest common divisor (GCD) of the numerator and denominator.
Then we divide both numerator and denominator by that GCD to get lowest terms.
If the fraction is improper (numerator larger than denominator), we show a mixed number too.
If the denominator is negative, the sign is moved to the numerator.

This tool doesn’t handle symbolic algebra—just numeric fractions. It’s useful for homework, recipes, and quick mental math checks.
